It has been a year since I stood up on stage and collected my certificate to say I graduated from The University of Northampton with a BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies degree.

It’s always scary when you’re in school and you have to choose either going to university or starting work. At first, I wasn’t sure on what I wanted to do. I was scrolling through all the possible courses I could apply for and all the courses involving children just caught my eye and I thought that it’d be something I could enjoy. After months of thinking and deciding which university would be best for me, I cut the list down to 3 possible universities; Northampton, Peterborough and Bedford. I wanted to stay close to home because living on campus never really interested me.

My top choice was Northampton and I was a lucky few to have the opportunity to go to university which was my first choice. Receiving that email on results day was the best feeling in the world. 3 long years went by and through all the struggles, the ups and downs, the tears, I qualified with a BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies degree.

I received my first job after qualifying working in a nursery. On 31st July I would have been at the nursery for an entire year. Al the children I have looked after for the past year are slowly starting to leave ready for school in September and it’s the best feeling in the world knowing that I helped shape their future.

Goals for the future is always a tricky one because you always wish they would come true and sometimes it jut wasnt meant to be. But one thing I would love to accomplish would be to have my own nursery. That would be a dream come true.

Thank you for reading. Id love to know if you guys are currently in uni or recently graduated and what course you did. Until next time.

    1. First year is always amazing! Just don’t give up! I wanted to give up during my last year but sticking it out was the best thing I’ve done. The feeling of walking up and getting your certificate to say you graduated was amazing xx
