CHRISTMAS IN OUR FIRST HOUSE

After almost thirteen long and stressful weeks, we have finally move into our first home together! It has taken me a while to write this post as I wanted to make sure that Liam and I were settled with as little drama to deal with as possible before sitting down and writing this as I knew I would go off on a tangent.

On the 6th of November 2019, Liam and I completed and bought our first house together. For me, this was a very big deal because, for the last 23 years, I have lived in one house. I had never moved house before so you can only imagine how stressed I was.

I’d like to say that moving house was easy but it definitely was not. We had drama from the minute we sent off our application for the house to weeks after buying and owning the house. But the first night we moved in, it couldn’t of been more perfect, knowing that I will be waking up to Liam every morning (how soppy).

We have been in the house for a couple months now and it is obviously nowhere near where we want it to be (going to take a few years till we are completely happy) but I thought I would share with you some pictures of what the house looked like before we moved in and what it looks like now. I am very proud of how much we have done in such a small space of time and we will continue buying and building furniture over the next couple months but, at this moment in time, we are both quite content with how everything looks.

Here is what the house looked like when we viewed it for the first time.

And this is what our house currently looks like as of today.

I would just like to say that in no way am I trying to brag about what I have. I am aware of how lucky I am and I love reading blog posts like these and so I thought it would be good to share mine with you (mostly because I don’t think I’ll be moving house again, EVER).

It’s crazy to think that we have spent our first Christmas together in our first house. I am forever grateful to be able to live with my best friend and see him every day. For Christmas, we had Liam’s dad and brother up for Christmas day dinner. Liam’s dad was very kind and cooked our first Christmas dinner in our house!

It was a gorgeous meal! There was no way I was going to finish it all, but I am definitely looking forward to our cold turkey sandwiches on Boxing Day!

It was an amazing feeling looking around thinking “we did it”! We hosted our first Christmas in our hose and I can honestly say, it was a lovely experience! After dinner, we relaxed for a little bit, had a good ol’ chat. Our family then went home and I think it was the first time Liam and I had been alone all evening without having to do anything. It was different not spending all evening with our families but it was lovely cuddling up on the sofa and watching the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special!

On Boxing Day, we had a chilled out morning, Liam watched the football and we headed to his mum’s ready for a boxing day feast and a games night!

Thank you so much for reading my lovelies, I hope you had a lovely Christmas and are looking forward to an amazing new year, 2020 is right around the corner. Until next time.
