NEW YEAR, SAME ME

I’d like to think that I am one of these people that make resolutions every year, but I’m not. I’d like to think that when I make resolutions, I’ll stick to them, of course, I don’t, but we have entered a new decade, a fresh start, so this year I want to make some fresh starts. Not new resolutions as such, but changes to focus on me to make my life that much better for the new decade.

One thing that I always say is that I want to BE MORE ACTIVE. Ever since I moved house, I cancelled my membership, said I’d start running around the block and working out at home till I joined a gym closer to my home, has that happened? Of course not! I believe I did one ab workout one morning and it absolutely killed me, so I gave up! I love running and being outside and I always used to do it when I was living with my mum but I think I’m a little scared to run/jog around my neighbourhood (people judging). This is always a constant battle of mine so I want to beat this and try to stop worrying about what other people think of me and just focus on myself!

For the past couple of months, I have really been enjoying reading. I try to read for at least 30 minutes in the morning while I am having my breakfast and I love spending that time on something else other than my phone. I want to focus on reading during 2020, my goal is to try and read 12 books in 12 months. If you’re fond of reading like I am, then I definitely recommend downloading the Goodreads app, you can keep track of the books you’ve read, the ones you want to read and the books you’re currently reading. You can even set goals on it.

Another goal of mine is to try and be outside more. The other day, I had nothing to do so I just got up and went for a walk and it refreshed my mind, breathing in the crisp winter air. I love being outside and going for walks and I have definitely neglected this for the past few months.

I realised over the past few years that I am not very good at keeping my resolutions so that’s why I’m only focusing on keeping a happy, positive life. I am so excited to see what 2020 has to offer for me and I hope it’s your best year yet!
