I don’t even know where to begin with this. This is going to be a big post with a lot of rambling so I apologise in advance. Blogging has changed my life in more ways than I would ever of imagined. At first, my blog was a small way of expressing myself without any intention of sharing it out to the world. When I first started my blog, not many people knew about it and truthfully, I was scared as to what other people might think of my blog and, more importantly, me. I was speaking to Liam about it and he gave me the biggest confidence boost and encouraged me to try and get my name out there, so I have (tried).
Blogging has allowed me to express myself and share my thoughts and feelings with you guys. It has enabled me to be me. My blog is all about me, my life, what I get up to, what I like and dislike. This blog has allowed me to be a better version of me. I feel like I can talk to you guys about anything, I can share anything and I won’t get judged, there will always be someone out there who knows and understands what I’m going through.
My blog has enabled me to have some amazing collaboration opportunities. It’s given me the confidence to email companies and ask them for a collaboration, explain to them why I would be good for them, to work with them. It’s something I didn’t think I’d be doing for quite some time now.
I always feel like I’m not the type of person to make friends easily. Either that or people just don’t tend to like me very much. But since having my blog and interacting more on Instagram, I feel like I have created new friendships with people who I never thought I would get along with. It has given me more of a positive outlook on life. I take more time to reply to comments and give positive feedback because, as we all know, it makes your day when you read a comment saying “you look beautiful” or even “I love this”. It’s the little things in life that I am appreciating more, especially from these friendships that I have made over the past couple of months.
I’d like to think I’m a pretty positive and optimistic person (others might disagree) in general. Ever since starting my blog and being more on social media, it’s made me very optimistic. I do have a bad habit of thinking the worst in things but, when writing and editing my blog, I try to be optimistic. I am trying harder to be a more positive person within my day-to-day life but I always think, if I think the worst, then at least I won’t be surprised if something bad happens. I know this is no way to live and I am trying to be more optimistic, but Rome wasn’t built in a day.
Blogging has helped me be comfortable in my skin. It’s helped me be a better version of myself. It’s given me a way to express myself. I am still trying and I can be nervous talking about my blog in public (most of my family don’t even know about my blog) so there are still things that I’m working on, but for the past year and a half since I’ve been blogging, I do feel like I am a different person, a better person.
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed this style of blog post. Has blogging helped you or has it hindered? I’d love to know, the good and the bad! Until next time.
